Kolja is a singer, musician and composer born in Germany and raised in Paris. Multilingual in French, German, English and Spanish, his instruments of choice are the guitar and the piano, but he also plays drums, bass and other instruments. After being part of various parisian bands in the 90’s, it is in the year 2000 that Kolja moves to Argentina to start his solo project, touring and recording there for two years. Back in Paris he starts working with record label The Green Factory and shares stages with bands such as The Kills, Jay-Jay Johanson or Elysian Fields, playing in various bands (Nouvelle Vague, Bang Bang, Colder or Cosmobrown). Being part of the Rolling Stone's Top 25 Best Bands on Myspace in 2007, he released an album, “Wide Open” in 2008 and two EP’s (“Into The Open” 2008 and “Through The Winter” 2009) under license of EMI. After this parisian episode, Kolja makes a bold move and founds a center for urban culture in Berlin, losing himself in Arts and berliner nightlife for some years. But music calls. In 2015, he gets back to work. Kolja recorded all the instruments of his latest songs in his home studio in Berlin Choriner Straße, the Tonkollektiv and Einstürzende Neubauten Studios, finishing the voice recordings in the Green Factory Studios in Paris (EP’s released in 2018 “Always Be (For Me)/Trick The Game - Guess You In The Air/Knock At My Soul - Burning Soul - Welfare). He is currently working on new songs in his berliner musical laboratory. kolja-music.com
