Funky District emerged in Hyères from two musicians with a passion for electronic music: Arthur, guitarist and keyboardist, and Pierre, drummer. Initially exploring house music through sampling, their musical project then evolved towards a refined approach with entirely original compositions and a strong instrumental component. Inspired by '70s funk, the band quickly made a name for themselves with their groovy, percussive sounds and their own retro identity. No longer just a DJ duo, the group has developed into an explosive live band in Paris, thanks to the arrival of bassist Brice and saxophonist/percussionist Erwan. The group performs regularly in Paris and the rest of France, sharing their music that captures the spirit of funk, disco and soul, while adding a modern, experimental touch. The band regularly teams up with up-and-coming figures in Pop and R&B music, such as American rapper NanaBcool, with whom they collaborate on their “404 NOT FONK” EP released in 2023, or singer Nic Hanson, who will be appearing on their next EP.
