"A 90's alt-rock meets chamber pop masterpiece of Americana, tethered together by David's one of a kind voice." -KUTX, NPR Influenced in equal measure by 70's rock and 60's folk along with a steady diet of Alt-rock and Motown, Barton Stanley David has a voice as big as his home state. A fifth generation Texan, Dallas bred BSD spent his formative years as a musician in the live music capitol of the world in Austin before landing in New York City in 2009 with only a suitcase. Barton's debut album "Blue For East Broadway" was completed with help from famed Indie producer John Agnello (Sonic Yourth, Dinosaur Jr) along with some of NYC's most notable musicians. In 2017, Barton's cover of The Cars' 80's classic "Drive" was featured on NPR's Acoustic Cafe, KFOG's Acoustic Sunrise, and Radio Woodstock, among others. Several years in the making, Bartons' new album Crest was released in 2022. Recorded in Dallas with co-producer Jeff Saenz (Paul Cauthen, Leon Bridges) and Grammy winning mixer Dave Schiffman (Tom Petty, Adele, The Killers), Crest chronicles the singer's move home to Texas from NYC and examines community, isolation, and spirituality in the digital age. Glide Magazine calls the album "stirring with a vocally rhythmic grace reminiscent of Damien Rice," and Americana Highways offers "Barton sings with authority and a seasoned tonality. The performances are stellar." Crest is out now via Kenshire Records.
