Biography

Growing up in Atlanta was never a cake walk for AvaNu everyday he would witness drug and alcohol abuse. To cope with his environment he began freestyle rapping, a talent he picked up from his brother. After noticing AvaNu's likeness, Andre (AvaNu's Brother) began to mentor him, teaching him how to manipulate words and phrases. When AvaNu's environment seemed to get too toxic his mother sent him to stay with his Grandmother in Decatur, Georgia. During this transition period AvaNu focused more on his singing abilities and he would meet best friend Zip and form a duo which would later become, Hitaholics. The 2005 alumni of Avondale High School AvaNu and Zip enrolled in Art Institute of Atlanta where they would start a R&B group (DUE TIME). After 3 years with the group, a lot of changes came about. AvaNu became a father to a beautiful baby girl in 2008, while the other members got engaged, moved out of state and began their own solo careers. In 2012, his debut album Love Makes Hearts Break took him across the country on a journey where he built a loyal fan base. In 2013, AvaNu and best friend Zip dropped their first collaborative project The Hitoholics. A year later he returned with Sex Love & Other Sh**. AvaNu dropped his 5th project #YearOfTheNu Chapter 1 (AvaNu Music Group/All Most Rare) which was released Juneteenth 2020. Recently AvaNu linked backed up Zip and released, "Gunnin'" available on all streaming platforms.
