Betamax Dub Machine was a project comprised of producers Ben Metcalf and Roberto Montoya. Ben is an experienced DJ and Roberto is an experimental rock vocalist. They released several singles from early 2021 through late 2022 including a track with the electronic music label Candy Flip. Their music video for B E T A N A U T won Best Music Video at Edmonton Short Film Festival and was directed by Ben. They've parted ways to pursue other projects but intend to release music together under different brands. Ben started making music in 2001 under the name DJ Elite. His first release was a remix of DJ Dan's Zipper Track which was a big favorite of Carl Cox. Since then Ben has had numerous releases and has been supported by some of the world's biggest DJs. After a break from music and a move from the UK to Canada, Ben's back in the studio making music. Roberto is the driving force behind the experimental rock collective Icons of Industry. He works with artists worldwide to create dynamic music with texture and deep melody. As a theologian, his lyrics touch on subjects like history, culture, and the human condition. His music is featured on television, film, and radio in the US, Canada, and the UK.
