Biography

Oakland born Cookie Money quickly adapted to the street life after his father was sent to jail. Very early Cookie learned how traumatic the hood can be when he lost his best friend right before his eyes to gun violence. This loss changed Cookie's outlook on the streets. He knew he had to get out before the same thing happened to him. Soon after, Cookie lost his great-grandfather (Issac) and his grandmother (Leola) who were very influential in his life and practically raised him while his father was gone and his mother was at work. Cookie tried to hide the street life from his grandparents as they always told him "drug dealers don't retire". Along with all the deaths, Cookie's luck began to run out. He found himself in various life threatening situations as well as in trouble with law enforcement. Facing penitentiary time, Cookie knew it was finally time to leave the streets cold turkey. Probation requirements forced Cookie to get a job at Whole Foods grocery market and he quickly learned that working was going to never work for him. Thinking about what he was going to do next, Cookie met a DJ by the name of Mustard at a nightclub who suggested Cookie should rap because he had the "look". Cookie hit DJ Mustard up for beats and booked 90 days in a studio to learn to rap on them. He has since worked with artists such as Young Dolph, Lil Boosie, YG and more. Most recently, Cookie released "Cookie World 2.5" featuring Young Dolph, E-40 , Philthy Rich and more.
