Hailing from South Korea, 18-year-old producer Markka and his captivating, forward-thinking strain of Drum & Bass have made him somewhat of a 170bpm prodigy. After falling in love with the high-octane sounds of Drum & Bass through video games throughout his childhood, Markka became hooked on the genre and with the assistance of his laptop, DAW and handful of stock plugins, set off on a mission to recreate this weird and wonderful genre of music. His productions simply do not understand the bounds of sub-genres, amalgamating an array of sounds and influences into Markka’s form of a distinctly unique, futuristic and tenacious brand of sound system destroying Drum & Bass. The Falling EP is no exception, featuring four of Markka’s finest productions to date with each production acting as a beacon that hones in on the different avenues of his signature sound. He now holds the goal of helping to represent the Korean Drum & Bass scene, expanding the music that we all love to another corner of the globe whilst making his own imprint simultaneously.
