Selasi is a Ghanaian/Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, actor and entrepreneur. “My musical foundation came originally from the church, I used to run from where my mother was sitting to where the band was playing and I’d sit and study the drummer, pick up the sticks, and imitate whatever he was doing. It was natural for me; I could hear a rhythm or melody and just start playing. I discovered my God-given ability to make music observing the musicians. Eventually he taught himself to play drums and the keyboard.” When he was old enough, Selasi trekked to Atlanta hoping to become a music star in America. Since then he’s creatively worked with Grammy Award winning multi-platinum singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss, 2Chainz, Golden Globe nominee Idris Elba, Hip-life star Sarkodie, afro-reggae artist Stonebwoy, Keyshia Cole, Akon, Nas, Jagged Edge, Trey Songz, GS Boyz, Pimp C, Ying Yang Twins, Rasheeda, Killer Mike, Yung Joc and more. While recording for others, Selasi, never gave up his dream of letting the world hear his own music. He released a 5 track EP, “Shades Of Grey” through his own label, Rocksteady Music available and has also released numerous singles like “Love Me Or Leave Me”, “Good Loving feat. Stonebwoy”, “Bless Your Body feat. Danagog” and “Wahala” just to mention a few. “Music speaks from the soul and to the soul and that’s why you can appreciate it even if you don’t understand the language,” expresses Selasi.
