Rollmottle is the moniker of Anthony Puglisi, who has been making music since the mid-90s when he decided to trade in the tedium of oil-painting for the immediacy of music. He was taken by the idea that he could create something larger than life entirely alone. Rollmottle has dubbed his music “Pacifica.” It describes a flavor of lower and slower music originating from a small group of artists from the West Coast of California that fuses contemporary electronic music, 70’s cocaine rock, 80’s synth, cosmic new age and dance music. Some describe it as “chill” or “downtempo” but that doesn’t quite capture the essence of its deeply warm and singularly Californian tone. Rollmottle’s music is the soundtrack to soaring through traffic during sunset while you leave behind your day’s work for something more gratifying. Distinctive walls of reverb-drenched synthesizers offer endless landscapes within which minds can wander and expand. Live guitars and live bass give Rollmottle’s music an organic foundation upon which massive beats propel forward. Deep, heady grooves evolve into epic crescendos that uplift and demand introspection. Rollmottle is a Los Angeles native and is the owner and operator of SENTRALL Records and SENTRALL Sound Studio. He has released three full length LP’s and 6 12” singles on SENTRALL and dozens of remixes for other artists and labels. With Tony Watson, Rollmottle is one half of Project Sandro, who’s famous track “Blazer” is a cosmic classic.
