Biography

Naima Faraò is a singer and composer based in Milan with an artistic background spanning music and visual arts. Active in the independent scene for over a decade, she moves in the sphere of alternative soul and nu jazz influences. In march 2024 she released her debut solo album via Beat Machine Records, featuring original tracks that reflect her ongoing vocal exploration. These songs are characterized by experimental songwriting, combined with an interest in vocal timbre research and a focus on unconventional structures and metrics. She has been the frontwoman and founder of the alternative soul collective Black Beat Movement, a band that shared stages with internationally renowned artists including De la Soul, Alpha Blondy, Julian Marley, Hiatus Kaiyote, Luciano, The Coup, Zion Train, Africa Unite, The Bloody Beetroots, and many others.
 Naima is a member of the Artchipel Orchestra, defined as one of the most creative realities of the Italian jazz scene, winner of the Top Jazz award as best ensemble in 2012, 2017, and 2022.
 She is also the alto of the vocal sextet Elephant Claps, an original project that explores multiple soundscapes with the only use of voice and body, winner of several awards in Italy and abroad.
