Biography

Crowhurst is the experimental project of Jay Gambit, founded in Philadelphia in 2011 who's known for collaboration (both live and remote) as well as terrifying soundscapes. In the years since, the project has touched on numerous genres such as black and doom metal - alongside the traditional textural compositions.
In 2015, Gambit and friends released "I" which was produced by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Punch) - a departure from more noise oriented releases. In the summer of 2016 saw the followup "II", which was written alongside members of Caina and Aevangelist. The effort was produced by Keith Souza and Seth Manchester (The Body, Daughters) at Machines With Magnets.
Crowhurst has released over 75 albums and has been praised by outlets such as The Needle Drop, Vice, Tiny Mix Tapes, Decibel, Invisible Oranges, The Tom Green Show, Terrorizer and has collaborated with everyone including Gary Mundy (Skullflower, Ramleh), Gnaw Their Tongues and Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) amongst hundreds of others.
Their newest, "III" - is a massive effort featuring members of Primitive Man, Lycia, and more. The album features art from Brandon Geurts and music videos by Jane “Pain” Chardiet. It was produced by Converge's Kurt Ballou at the legendary Godcity Studios in Salem, Mass. and mastered by Brad Boatright (YOB, Full Of Hell).
