Biography

Sean R. Hanson (formerly known as "Sean081799") is an American musician and multi-instrumentalist from St. Paul, Minnesota. His primary instruments are piano (beginning in 2nd grade) and symphonic percussion (beginning in 5th grade), but has since branched out into other instruments such as guitar, bass, and alto saxophone. Sean's passion for video game music began in 2015 - beginning with learning Bespinben's arrangement of "Sky Tower" from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red/Blue Rescue Team for solo piano. This arrangement inadvertently sparked interest in arranging and covering music, and this has since grown into his primary hobby and a secondary source of income. Sean holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, and also took a significant number of courses in and relating to music. Alongside this, he is one of two co-founders of the Video Game Music Jazz Ensemble at Michigan Tech (alongside bassist Ryan Briggs), a student-lead group that was formed in November 2019 and has grown to have over 20 members of all instruments, majors, and years of study (at a school that doesn't host music majors, nonetheless).
