Introducing Cymbol, the DJ and producer whose matching of melodious hooks with left-field rhythms and drops has already sent shivers down the spine of crowds across New Zealand and Australia. Born into a musical family, Shivnesh Sumer grew up with a guitarist father and sisters who were singers, nurturing his love for composition. Sumer went from winning the George FM (popular NZ dance music station) Remix Competition in 2013 to international collaborations and a deal with big Australian label Sweat It Out Music (home to esteemed acts: RÜFÜS DU SOL, ‘What So Not’ and ‘Yolanda Be Cool’). After a series of remix contest breakthroughs and high radio rotation he struck a three year deal with Universal AUS/NZ which saw him hit major festivals across the country including Rhythm & Vines, Electric Avenue and Homegrown. Additionally, Cymbol has released ‘nainowale’, his first combination of childhood Bollywood influences with hip-hop featuring two guest vocalists as part of his constant combination of other influences into his unique brand of music.
