I make songs. I make paintings. I make silly animated short films. I make things because I love stories. I make things because I am compelled to. With my band No More Kings the stories I told were about the Karate Kid, Knight Rider, the Smurfs and zombies. With my solo stuff, the stories are a bit more varied. My debut solo album Diamondhead was about a recent trip I took to Hawaii. I wrote and demoed the album in my hotel room looking out at the Diamondhead crater. My newest album, In Measured Hundredweight is a cinematic post-apocalyptic journey, inspired by the James Mangold film, Logan. It’s full of dusty ominous synth sounds and driving tribal beats. I’ve always felt like we humans are at our best when we are connecting through stories. I hope you find something interesting or hopeful in the stories I tell.
