Idi X Teco is a hip hop duo based out of Memphis, TN. The group was formed by Maurice Colbert (Idi) & Anteco Tate (Teco) in 2010 while they were still in high school. After graduating they started recording music seriously and performing in at local shows in the city of Memphis & built a solid reputation due to their energetic performance style. They have opened up shows for artists such as EARTHGANG, Curren$y, and Mobb Deep just to name a few. After releasing several projects under their previous name “Hippy SOUL” they changed their name to “Idi X Teco” and released their debut EP “Growing Pains” with the song “Buzzsaw Kick” as the lead single. The thought provoking lyrically content and experimental production in their music separates them from the usual gangster rap sound that is expected from hip hop artists from Memphis. They hope to be a voice for a new style of Memphis hip hop and open doors for other artists like themselves.
