A rising star in the Nashville hip-hop scene, EJ THE MAKER has proven to be mean, rough, and rowdy both in the studio and on the stage. Armed with gravelly, punchy vocals that echo the spirit of DMX, with sinister beatscapes that thump and throb like they’re ready to pounce, EJ makes hype music for night prowlers. Born Elijah D. Floyd, EJ THE MAKER began recording himself when he was just eighteen. As his influences grew, artists such as Scarlxrd, Lil Wayne, Disturbed, and 21 Savage drove his music to incorporate elements of hip-hop, trap, and nu-metal; thus birthing his distinctive style of ominous and atmospheric hood rap combined with cathartic screaming. He would develop this aggressive aesthetic under the pretense of his alter-ego, “EJ Badweather,” the equivalent of EJ the Maker’s Slim Shady.
