Pana disappeared after transcendental meditations. One of Newcastle’s independent artist’s and guitarists went into his own studio life like a Buddhist to a retreat. Something had changed with his poetry and he was more chilled. Same vibe, more mindfulness, more surfing, and more new music. After being on the road with bands that jam from funk to world music, Pana’s guitar work led him to share the stage with Nicky Bomba, And with production advice from this music legend he began his debut release ….‘Tangents’. Forming his own original sound he proceeded to track his long time dream of surf rock guitar, reggae revolution lyrics and British pop. That gig life party vibe was in the tracks, interpreting the music legends ideas and flow brought out the final piece of the puzzle. And it was all in the mix, the music was together. Sounds like “Hendrix meets Sublime meets some cool 60’s UK underground band” Bomba would say once the smoke had cleared. Tangents has a hint of humour in the lyrics with the song your mother, it holds the rocksteady revolution in ‘The Age’. There’s virtuosic guitar funk in ‘Livin the Dream’ and ‘House as Heart’, and its all brushed with British pop. Yes Pana disappeared. He disappeared into the mindful meditation of good music, a nourished mind was guided to a creative consciousness. The moments and memories we all share from a music experience and what they can do for all of us and the space we live in.
