Affiliated with HSP crew, rapper Jay Axe hails from Ga-Mphahlele, South Africa. Being inspired by the 90s to early 00’s hip-hop, being one of the few people who took interest in pursuing hip-hop in his village, Axe helped introduce Hip Hop into prominence around the turn of the 2010s in Ga-Mphahlele and has since been part remained among the most unique rapper/producers. has evolved into being both a rapper & a producer Since making his solo debut with the EP, X Files (2017), Axe had either produced or appeared on tracks for artists such as Wilo Ink, Dk Motive, and Jay Cool, just to name a few. Born Tshepo Maja in Ga-Mphahlele, Axe started making music at a young age and was known as just a producer until 2017. Upon his late 2019 insightful conversation with Zito Mowa, Axe was determined to build on the success of his next release, he eased himself back into the scene with his 2020 EP, XLVI. Axe ultimately agreed to be mentored by Zito Mowa and that led to the success of his latest EP, XLVI, reaching +10k streams on Spotify.
