Incorporating musical influences from Atlanta to New York, The Gxng brings a refreshing perspective to their story and mesmerizing sound that is sure to hold your ears and attention. The Gxng is comprised of three members who all met at Georgia Southern University back in 2004. Prior to creating The Gxng, members Darin Woodard, Jamaal Hutchinson, and Nic Roundtree were one half of the hip-hop group BFO Strange’Us. Overtime, these three had a vision for something different and had a different story that they wanted to tell that wasn’t possible in the current group. So, these three disbanded and The Gxng was created in 2012. For the next three years, The Gxng was in the studio grinding and creating something new and special. Entirely self-produced and recorded in-home, they found the sound and how their next body of work should be delivered to the world. The trio self-released their 2015 debut EP ‘Welcome To The Gxng’. This body of work personifies the ups and downs, pain, and joys that each member experienced during the process of creating this album and the journey it took to get to this point.
