The unexpected duo of American emcee Blu Rum 13 and UK producer Luke Vibert formed across genres and geography back in the 2000s. After meeting at the CMJ Music Festival in New York, the two began collaborating, turning out a full-length album digitally released in 2004. They called themselves "BLUKE" and that first album "Smell the Urgency" was re-released on limited edition vinyl on December 13, 2017 by Besides records. The release prompted a reunion, and less than a year later, "Sense the Urgency" was born. Mastered at JFX Studios (Lyon) and released on Ropeadope Records (Philly), May 24, 2019. Blu Rum 13 provides profound lyrical flows with machine gun-like dexterity over Luke Vibert's precise, lush, and gifted production. BLUKE is Luke Vibert's first and only hiphop moniker, while Blu Rum 13 has been the secret weapon for a plethora of artists and labels ranging from electronica to jazz, funk, and soul.
