Biography

Julie Rokseth virtuoso harpist, composer, arranger. World's first tango harp master. Most active in her duo Julie & Andreas which combines harp and bandoneon, and has been invited to play at the World Harp Congress 2021 in Cardiff, Wales. Innovating with wind-harp and glass ball techniques Julie explores in both the experimental, improvisational, jazz and the classical genres as well as the musical playgrounds between. Julie can be experienced on Antropocen by SKRAP and Trondheim Jazzorkester, Off the Coast with Henrik Nørstebø and Daniel Lercher, Bare Være by Maren Selvaag, Latin Grammy nominated album Tango Cosmopolita (with Gran Orquesta Típica OTRA), and When I Was a Child from "Yoga" by Broen, Tøv from "Aill Kjeinne Aill" by Anders Jektvik, and three songs from Bror Forsgren's album "Narcissus" - Waiting for That Holy Music, Still in the Wild and Any day now. Julie Rokseth has also had 20 live improvisation based performances by and with Mette Henriette, played in orchestras including Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, the Bodø Sinfonietta, Ålesund Symphony Orchestra, and the Ringsakeroperaen. Julie played improvisational solo folk harp during the biggest Nordic outdoor theater "Spelet om Heilag Olav" (2019). She is also very proud to have been accompanied by Gustavo Beytelmann on Dutch national TV playing as Julie & Andreas.
