Biography

Obsessively intrigued by the interaction between people, the discourse between words and action, and ultimately how those interactions create balance and imbalance for individuals. This is what drives the boisterous character that develops within each word of Khalil’s story. Canadian born artist from Toronto, Canada, Khalil portrays stories of his perceptions and views from a perspective new to rap, including not only with the problems youth face today, but also recognizing intersectional identities between his own ethnic histories, love, and life experiences, and his passion of music, blending it all together to paint a vivid picture of conscious thought, love, emotion, and confidence. While embracing the new identity of todays 808s dominant hip hop culture, he simultaneously remains rooted in lyricism, consciousness, recognizing those who paved the way before him, with a clear plan to continue in a new direction and re-develop that sound. The music is just beginning, but the story has been long started, and the journey will be one to follow, as Khalil shows how he is learning the true identities of his own character, and hardships and fellowships that come with that journey. This is Khalil.
