Gonne Choi is a singer-songwriter who creates a completely unprecedented kind of music that sounds like it has been around for a long time. When you listen to her music, it takes you on a journey to a place you can’t find on the map but only in your heart. The unique color of her songs comes from the various musical experiences from her youth, such as learning the Korean traditional instrument “Gayageum” and the narrative music “Pansori”, and being the vocalist of a college hard-core rock band. These experiences greatly affect the diversity of Gonne’s music, and allow her to cross the boundaries of genres such as rock, folk, jazz, contemporary, classic, Korean traditional, and world music. She brings out various musical colors based on acoustic sound, incorporating the band sound in her solo style. She has performed on several international stages in Asia, Europe, South America and the Middle East, as well as major music festivals in Korea. Moreover, she was the first Korean to be officially invited to Glastonbury Festival and broke her own record by being invited three times. She was also the winner of the Fuji TV program “Asia Versus” in 2013.
