Biography

Verena is a Mexican singer/songwriter, born in Mexico City, and based in Denver, CO. With her music, she seeks to explore and communicate raw, genuine, and vulnerable emotions while incorporating her influences within contemporary pop and Latin American music. She strives to speak up about her experiences as a woman, as a POC, as a daughter, and as a human. The genre of her musical project is mainly Contemporary Pop / R&B / Neo-Soul. In 2019 she released her first two singles “It’s My Pride” and “Let You”. In October, she was the opening act for a Mexican band called Vera at the Lunario del Auditorio Nacional, one of the most important concert venues in Mexico City. She was accepted into Berklee College of Music, as well as CU Denver’s Music School, where she attends today (some of this school’s outstanding alumni are the members of the band The Fray, Illenium, among other recognized members of the Music Industry in the United States of America). "Since I was a toddler, I knew I had found something to devote my entire life to. At the age of 12, I discovered there was a way of sharing what I thought and felt through my own words and melodies, so I started songwriting and it remains my greatest passion. When I write a song I feel like I can finally understand myself, what’s happening to me at the moment, and the world around me. Music makes everything make sense to me, and I wish with all my heart that mine can make someone out there feel the same way."
