Biography

Faith, Roots and Reality make up a huge chunk of Mutley’s artistry. Having been a kid of Cebuano streets at the age of 11, his music today almost always circles back to both the harsh and welcoming tones of life—struggles and good times included. While gangster rap is one of Mutley’s biggest influences, it’s less a recurring theme in his works than it is a stark allusion to his own environment growing up.
Now that Mutley has a platform to share messages of life, faith, and everything in between, there is no conceivable limit to what he aims to put out.
Mutley was born and raised in Cebu City. He got into the local brand of the Western hip-hop culture as a young boy, which has largely shaped his music and creative style. Though it took years of prodding from family and peers to get him into creating rap music, Mutley is no stranger to the art itself, having been given a ringside view to his older brothers, Menace AKA Kahdafi’s and k9’s careers from childhood.
Tupac, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Dipset, and Lil Wayne are some of Mutley’s biggest influences, and if one listens closely, they would recognize the slightest homages paid to these greats. As a result of these influences and the style that Mutley has himself developed over the years, he is a fresh and unique voice that anyone would no doubt recognize after hearing him for the first time.
Some of Mutley’s greatest songs include “Extra,” “Dat Boi,” and “Merry Go.”
