Avid Tha Maverick… Inspired by the acts of the great Tupac, Hip-Hop group, Bone: Thugs-N-Harmony, San Diego’s well known rap artist, Mr. Shadow, and the phenomenal,Eminem, started making music at the age of 14. In 2010, Avid Tha Maverick took rapping seriously and created a two-man group with his cousin, Jorge S. They called themselves, Avid & Striphe. In 2012, through his slow uprising as an underground artist, Avid Tha Maverick lost his fiancée pregnant with his five-month old baby. After that deep tragedy, he didn’t feel the love and the joy for making music. He also lost his job, distanced himself from family, friends, and had a tough time adjusting to his new life. Seven years later, in 2019, Avid Tha Maverick restarted making music when his cousin, Jorge S., asked him to make a song and instantly fell back in love with the art of the music. And as a promise to his fiancé, he continued to do what he loves the most, and continues once again being the rapper that he is, Avid Tha Maverick! ~ Gabriel Soto Jr.
