Rasim Fasikhov, also known as Ra5im, is a Tatar musician and singer whose music takes its roots from national culture and traditional ethnic instruments.The first release of the artist was launched in 2015 on Elliptical Sun Melodies. Thus, the track "Messages" was created, which was then released on the Human Turbines label of a friend and countryman — Cramp. Later, along with another friend, Idy Ramy, Rasim released the "Perfect Life" EP on Emergent Music. The release was supported by several radio shows, including Silk Music Showcase, which inspired Rasim to continue working in this direction. Self-isolation in 2020 paid off: Ra5im composed a lot of interesting and diverse music, and also recorded his first live performance in nature environment.However, all this time, Rasim has been dreaming of releasing something special. He met Fløa (who turned out to also be his countryman from Kazan) and, inspired by Tatar folk melodies, they wrote "Give Me A Second". In this composition, the Bashkir folk wind instrument sounds called 'Kurai' and Tatar melodies of Rasim himself can be heard. Finally, he managed to convey his message to the world: folk motives can be combined with the modern electronic music. This was followed by a series of successful collaborations with Fløa, OAI and Forty Cats on the respectable Monstercat Silk and Interplay labels.Ra5im does not stop on the current stage: there is a lot of new original music coming soon from the Tatar musical phenomenon.
