My 1st EP was released in 2000, and the Chiff-Chaffs & Willow Warblers LP in 2001 (on the Melodic label). It’s always bothered me that I hyphenated Chiffchaff, but I was young. In 2002, the Rockpoolin' EP came out, followed by Rinse in 2003. In 2005 4AD released the Vigo Bay EP and Maritime full-length. Around then I did this Tulips - Minotaur Shock Remix and played shows with Yo La Tengo. Amateur Dramatics came out digitally on 4AD in 2008. I was trying to write something like Michael Nyman but that I could drum to. Orchard came out in 2012. For the first time I recorded live stuff in a studio, having demoed the tracks at home. In the press release I said “I…became fascinated by that particular eccentricity that runs through a lot of folk, library, prog and dance music. Things like Mike Oldfield, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, The Orb, The Art Of Noise, Kevin Ayers, Virginia Astley, Andrew Poppy, Richard Skelton, Autechre." MINO came out in 2019, after a while spent trying to learn how synths worked. I still didn’t really find the answers. Qi is a bunch of one-take performances recorded on an Elektron Digitone. Salina Pulse Streams and Chaff Probes are both stream-of-consciousness releases where each track evolves into the next one.
