bassröbot is the electronic alias of Scottish producer & songwriter Johnny Copland. Drawing from influences across the electronic music spectrum, his productions fuse House, Deep House and UK Garage with his eclectic musical background. Born and raised in South West Scotland, a multi-instrumentalist, Johnny began making music with friends when he was 8 years old. He worked as a session musician in London for 10 years and toured worldwide with artists including Crystal Fighters, The Reflex, RAIGN and Marcos Valle. His first exposure to electronic music was a cassette of the Chemical Brothers Exit Planet Dust at age 14. He began making beats in London in 2010 and has had his productions played on BBC 1Xtra. Inspired by the upheavals of the 2020 pandemic, Johnny decided to launch bassröbot to explore more modern sounds and has since had his work featured by D:Tune, Dujak and Guettapen and collaborated with upcoming UK talents including Callum Stack.
