Ja-P (Japelle Shaw Jr.), from Fredericksburg, VA, started making music at the age of 13 when his first uncle gave him the producer program, FL Studio, on his birthday. He then learned how to sample music and throughout his freshman and sophomore years of highschool, he was selling beats to aspiring artists in the area. It was not until his junior year when he started to take writing music seriously. Through Myspace, he met another local artist/producer by the name of “Era”. They came together and released their first collab project "The Undiscovered" which created a region-wide buzz for the young artists. They later released a music video of the hit single from the project called "Cut You Loose" which gave them more of a buzz around different regions in the United States. Now continuing his rise to international levels, Ja-P has teamed up with the Dutch dance duo, Project North, on his track, "Lethal". His most recent project is a no brainer-banger that gives his crowd more of his story telling side. Ceo.wav, the collab artist and producer of the project, brought out another version of Ja that not a lot of his fans have seen before. The contrast of pain and resolution with melodies and edgy verses gives the audience an original sound that cannot be denied. Ja-P is now rebranding with the new alias, “TheJaWhoRaps” and will be releasing all new singles, music videos and projects this year with various artists.
