Growing up as a shy kid, Shurlock was bullied allot and it made him feel voiceless because of it. Through music he began to build confidence within himself, and with that new found power he began to grow. Fast forward a few years ago Shurlock was teaching this shy kid in his workshop, and found she felt like he did at that age. So he worked with her and over a few weeks he saw a change, and so did the other kids who became fast friends with her. This inspired Shurlock to want to help teens, the same way using music as the backdrop.
