Gola is an internationally renowned singer-songwriter and women's rights activist. Having grown up in Iran and lived first hand under the oppressive weight of the Iranian government, Gola emerged as a voice for those unable to speak for themselves. Known as the 'Lioness of Iran,' The songstress is the first Iranian woman who was born and raised in Iran and had an English track in the UK Club chart. The singer currently in exile spends her time in Los Angeles while she offers her voice as a vessel to a cause far beyond herself, persistently speaking out in protest against human rights violations in Iran. Women are prohibited from singing solo in public in Iran and are limited in their freedom to use their voices to prevent immoral sensual arousal with unrelated men. Gola and her work have caught the attention of major media outlets such as i-D, The Times and The Sunday Times UK, TMRW Magazine, and Hunger Magazine, while she continues releasing projects that amplify her mission to spread empowerment, peace, and love. Her new album ‘CHANGE,’ at its core, is a historic work detailing the experience of a woman who woke up to her oppression, stood fearlessly in the face of danger, and encouraged other women to reclaim their voices as she did hers. “No matter where and when we live, there are always rules that need to be challenged. Be the one who makes the difference. And never wait for anyone to give you your right. You already own it." GOLA
