Born and raised in Louisiana, Matrixx -- the name given and adapted from the classic 90's film -- started his hip-hop career with his debut EP, Elevation, in 2019. As a kid, Matrixx's connection with music stemmed from his family's love for soul, blues, and rap LPs. During senior year of high school, Matrixx got together with a fellow artist and longtime friend Rusty Patterson to spend time in DreamNation Studios. By August 2019, he had moved to Florida to attend Full Sail University and in 2020, he went on a spree of single releases to get his name around. The years of practice allowed Matrixx to hone his skills to where even marketing genius, Gary Vaynerchuck, noticed. While keen to separating himself from the generic bounce or gangster sound Louisiana is distinctively known for, Matrixx's goal was to deliver something more than just words on top of a beat, and instead focused his time and effort on meaningful lyrics as well. With the recent release of his album titled “Awakening”, Matrixx showed the growth in his ability as an MC and even as a songwriter with 6 brand new tracks, alongside 3 tracks with guest speaker Clarence Webster. Standouts like Al Capone & Zone II are proof that the Louisiana artist is ready to show the world what they’re missing out on.
