Matthijs van der Wilt is a classically trained organist based in Rotterdam in the Paradijskerk. After he finished his bachelor Organ and Church Music, he started his master in Screen Scoring with Paul M. van Brugge. Matthijs composes music in different genres from organ music to electronic ambient and IDM. On his first album Alexander he takes the listener deep into the piano with intimate sounds, inspired by artists like Nils Frahm. A lot of the simple and melancholic melodies are based on Gregorian chants and hymns from the church. Next to his piano compositions, Matthijs writes music for film, radio plays and other media.
