Emily Hakoola is a singer/songwriter who stepped into the music industry when she was twelve years old. Born 14th February, 1998 in a family of five with four brothers. Growing up in a family where she was the only singer she knew, the only motivation she had was her mothers love for music. Emily makes pop music with its own twist, “I don’t really have a specific genre but if you need a description, I would say I do electric pop music”, she says. Being one of the very few people In the country to do pop music, Emily has made her mark as the top pop artist in Zambia. Emily has worked with producers like Mixtizo, Church Ulukuta and Legend’son, featuring artists like Solomon Plate and Tim. With her debut album on the way, Emily wishes to inspire artists to express themselves. Emily is currently working on her debut album which is in the mixing phase. It consists of 14 tracks and was produced by Legend’son. Spending only a month writing, making instrumentals and recording the entire album, Emily is excited to finally share her body of work with the world, believing it will make an impact.
