Biography

Daveman a.k.a. Dr. Davis Adedayo Eisape was born in East Berlin in 1983 and spent his childhood and youth between Germany and Nigeria. He was influenced by various musical influences at an early age and began learning various instruments and writing his own songs at a young age. His musical career began in Lagos, where he released his first album 'Imoshuns' with his band 'The Lag Boyz' in 2001. After returning to Berlin in 2001, Daveman founded the hip-hop formation 'Trikolo'. In 2004 he released the album of the same name and the single 'Bring You Down'. With his unique style, which combines elements of high-speed ragga and sunny hooklines with a clear reggae influence, he quickly made a name for himself in the Berlin music scene. In addition to his musical career, Daveman is also socially and politically active. In 2008, he accompanied the then Foreign Minister Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier on a trip to Africa as part of a German cultural delegation. There he performed in Ghana, Togo and Burkina Faso, among other places. Daveman is also a sponsor of a school in Berlin as part of the "School without Racism - School with Courage" campaign. As part of his work as a sponsor, he writes song lyrics together with kids and produces music videos for entire school classes. His music, which is inspired by his Christian faith and his commitment to social justice, deals with topics such as injustice, poverty and racism, but also hope, love, confidence and activism. www.davemanmusic.de
