Amilyon (pronounced: a million) is an independent artist reigning from Montreal, Canada. When listening to him, expect braggadocious stanzas, that detail his happiest and saddest moments by painting a picture of: 1. what he’s experienced and 2. what he hopes to experience in the future. Milly strives to bring “stank-face” lyrics and hypnotizing flows to every beat he gets his hands on. When the boy isn’t complaining about the vicious weather of the country, he’s somewhere recording a voice memo of him humming a new melody into his cellphone. Blessed with a quick-writing style, once he starts it’s almost impossible for him to stop. Amilyon’s obsession with music first began in the early 2000s. His parents would surround him with ballads from greats like Mary J. Blige to Tupac Shakur. Mix that with the seven years in music school and you’ve got a recipe for quite the artsy child. In high school, while managing sports and other extracurricular activities, he would maintain that musicality by constantly writing verses to the hottest songs out. He’d also dabble in poetry writing; winning numerous spoken word contests throughout his time in school. All of this further fueled the musical fire that had been instilled in him as a kid. Now, Amilyon and frequent collaborator Casey Burns own “Swingba”, a creative collective that focuses on music, event planning and clothing creation. Both use the company to promote artistic expression/freedom to anybody chasing a dream.
