Jo Sarah is an Amsterdam-based artist & producer. She has been inspired by the cultures she grew up in around the world and her multicultural roots (Dutch & Surinamese), as well as artists like Sade, Sting, and Jill Scott and genres like Brazilian music, and R&B. Her music fuses her warm, deep and unique vocals to create a melting pot of interesting stories which can be heard in her productions and experienced in the instruments she plays which include: piano, guitar, ukelele, and percussion. 'Juicy' is officially the first single of her newest project called 'UMA', following her previous singles 'GLOW', 'No Wifi' produced by Brazilian producer Felipe Pomar, 'Venha Cá' produced by multi-gold producer Ramon Ginton (Ronnie Flex, Stonebwoy, Rico Nasty), and 'ME' produced by Mabassa and Jo Sarah featuring ZUCO 103-singer Lilian Vieira. This year Jo Sarah will release her newest album 'UMA' - meaning 'Woman' in Sranan Tongo (the official language of Surinam) - which will be a compilation of songs about female sexuality, its’ taboos, and her personal experiences on these subjects. Jo Sarah's newest single 'The Call' is the call for women+ to unite. This song was produced by Jo Sarah herself and the music video was shot in the desert, jungle, waterfall, and farms of Panama by Dutch director Leanne Vink. The Call is about a woman who is having a hard time, but when she sings the melody of the chorus, a magical tribe of women+ starts dancing and sends her power to keep going.
