Shir is the complete Jewish music group specialising in music from the Diaspora and Israel, with a wide repertoire of Ashkenazi and Sefardi music including Klezmer, Israeli, Ladino, Yiddish, Mizrahi, Liturgical and of course Simcha Dance music. Formed in 1997 by Maurice Chernick, the band, which is now in its 23rd year, continues to entertain the UK Jewish and wider community. It has performed at numerous Simchas, concerts, charity events and festivals in both the UK and Europe.
