Meschplan, a mostly electronic solo project from Mattias Jonsson, took form early 2013 in Uppsala, Sweden. From the beginning the concept of cheap, simple, DIY-style home recordings was the main thing for Meschplan. Musical inspiration came from the electronic/cosmic side of krautrock, 80's synth pop, Eno-esque ambient and the more experimental side of post-punk. In 2019, these early recordings were compiled into a 40-minute one-track album, The Meschplan Tapes, which contained material spanning from 2013 to 2018. This was followed in 2020 with the release of the mini-album Schöne Einheit.
