Biography

Ever since he wrote his first rhyme in a hotel room, Rootbeer (known on many social media platforms as Rappin' Rootbeer) has been developing his craft. The Upstate New York rapper wrote and recorded his first project at the age of 13 and released five solo albums, an EP and a mixtape by age 21. In 2011, he and The Rawhide Kid released a collaborative project, Whiteout! In 2016, after a five-year hiatus, Rootbeer released Fear of Success, an album that takes the listener on a journey through the highs and lows of working a 9-to-5 while struggling with depression. The album features upbeat, comical songs such as "Battle Rap," "Day Old Doughnuts" and "Workplace Hot" alongside some of his most personal tracks including "Perfect for Me," "PTSD" and "Ghost of my Past." In 2018, Rootbeer released an unorthodox EP, Uprooted. The genre-bending project takes inspiration from hip-hop, punk rock and classic rock, making it the most diverse collection of songs in Rootbeer's catalog to date. The EP was followed by Whiteout! 2 and another full-length solo album, In/Stability: The Ultimate Ending, where each track represents one aspect of Rootbeer's life falling apart. Among those songs was "These Things Happen," which, along with its remix, became Rootbeer's most successful songs to date.
