 Mainetain of New Skool Enk was born & raised in Sacramento, Ca. A versatile MC true to the West Coast hip hop culture. Mainetain’s motto “count your blessings” 
 His upbringing & love for hip hop has created a unique style and approach to his art. His favorite artists range from The legends he grew up listening to locally from Brotha Lynch Hung, Marvaless, Skee 64 (rip), C-Bo, and King Kahali aka Doey Rock to artists from the Bay Area like E-40, Mac Dre,and Yukmouth to name a few. Not to leave out Southern California artists like Kurput, Mc Eight, DJ Quik, Above the law, and countless others. Mainetain’s family roots stem from Lousianna and Texas so of course he has been heavily influenced by southern artists like the Geto Boys, UGK, OutKast to the East Coast style including LL Cool J, Method Man, Big Pun, Big L and the Lost Boys. 
 Mainetain began his musical journey as an artist recording his first solo song in the kitchen of his apartment. This led to rocking stages all over California with his group New Skool Enk and his crew The Neighborhood Watch.
