Peace Family, my name is A.J. Throwback. The name "Throwback" comes from my best friend Country who once told me I give off a classic feel. I added the "A.J." (which stands for "Authentic Joe") to separate myself from the other "throwbacks". I come from The Mighty Ward 8 in Washington, D.C., but as a current resident of Silver Spring, Maryland and a champion for creatives from my area, I carry the banner for the entire "DMV". Because D.C. go-go music is king where I'm from, I make most instrumentals with a band replaying my music in mind. However, I sometimes play around with "trap" beats and "doctor them up" with my classic flavor. When I first got in the game, I told the beats what to do; now I let THEM tell ME what to do. I might give you two 16-bar verses and then a 32-bar verse--yes, I still believe in a 3rd verse LOL--but trust me...I don't waste words. That's who I am as an artist and I don't apologize for it.
