Doktorhokashi puts an end to more than 3 years of work with his 1st solo album, Montage. Musically, this little more than an hour of material is homogeneous, leftfield tracks built from downtempo, trip-hop and electronica elements follow each other, the distant, melancholic, gloomy atmosphere prevails, but there are also more relaxed moments. The contributors : here is berrybebop, who can be heard in the album opener Awake in addition to the previous single Supernova Panic. One of the lighter moments is That's Why, in which pleasant guitar themes float on a liquid drum n bass basis, and the guitar is handled by zenmedve aka Gergely Kerekes, one of the founders of Vad Fruttik. Lazul Azur aka Dániel Kövecses-Varga, who is a multi-instrumentalist singer, appears twice in the talent search section of the record. He usually travels to pop music, but he is also audibly at home in this environment. Ugrbugr, which was also previously released as a single, shines with DJ Bootsie's scratches. There is also an international guest on the track The Others in the person of dark and damned. It is not certain that many people know him, so let's mention that he is Saffrolla, from one of Ninja Tune's strangest formations, the band Pest. He rapped on one of the planned songs of Doktorhokashi's former band easylifenatural, then the base was lost, the rap remained and here he revived with a new base. Montage is highly recommended material for fans of such and similar musical adventures!
