College friends turned formidable partnership, producer MVMMOTH and writer/vocalist Alexa King form the electronic-pop duo ‘LXDEE’. They debuted with the track "cloud nine (mmm yeah)" in 2021 as part of the 'Penn St. Vol.1' compilation album from Point Blank Recordings. Now in 2023 they released their debut EP 'Survival Mechanism', pop hooks smashed together with heavy synth basses create a dark and twisted auditory experience that is sure to turn heads. The ‘Survival Mechanism’ EP was remotely crafted over countless Zoom calls spanning 2021 and 2022. The title represents the overarching theme of the 4 songs, highlighting the different ways an individual responds to hardship and the effect that hardship can have on a person’s mental wellbeing. The intention behind this release is to promote self-confidence in overcoming adversity, reassuring listeners that everyone learns to survive in their own way.
