Few artists have anchored the mixture of analog and digital sounds as broadly and deeply as the pianist Ralf Schmid in his project PYANOOK. His music oscillates between timeless pianistic poetry and pulsating grooves. Performing on two pianos with mi.mu data gloves, PYANOOK catapults the ever-auratic Grand Piano into the 21st century. Schmid interweaves acoustic sound with live electronics to an exquisite, redefined piano sound spectrum.
