Horses seem to make him happy — Arab, Quarter, Palomino; Morgan, Paint, the Appaloosa, and all things bay. He’s known as Kai’makani’mele, Paul, Jyoti, Fire Prince, and Billy Ray. He’s first a doctor, writer, teacher — helps people heal — so up on stage will rarely play. “Love is everything,” he’ll say, “and with it hate can be transcended, come what may."
