Storm Weather Shanty Choir was founded in 2000. The inspiration for these salty songs came from the three masted Norwegian tall ship "Statsraad Lehmkuhl", where Haakon Steinar Vatle sailed as crew and shantyman for many years. Haakon returned home to the island Stord on the wild and windy western coast of Norway, and gathered a bunch of long-haired rockers to combine his love for maritime history, culture of tall ships and shanties. As rockers simply are a sort of landbound seamen, he found his fellowship with musicians Roald Kaldestad, Gisle Østrem, Vidar Vedå, Ronny Sætre and Rune Nesse. Storm Weather Shanty Choir are known as a colourful element in both folk music communities and more rock-oriented music-scenes. Their fun and engaging shows are a definite must-see for all music lovers. @http://www.shantychoir.com/ @https://www.facebook.com/shantychoir/ @https://www.instagram.com/stormweathershantychoir/?hl=en @https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCODZQytGavG7DszBUi6KRcg
