Biography

Artist and entrepreneur, EQ is an emerging talent from the west side of Chicago’s, Austin Neighborhood. We often hear about Chicago’s south side area yet EQ aims to reveal the distinct hustler mentality that is emanating from the city’s western region. While transitioning into high school, he started dealing drugs and running with his own crew, detached from the security blanket he’d inherited from his pedigree. Despite his street association, EQ still went on to college. Nevertheless, he wasn’t heavily inspired by academics. Instead, he found himself studying hip hop history, Master P interviews, and various other music business-related material. Similar to many of his peers, EQ turned to rap as a creative outlet. Early on, Tupac had inspired him to tell his story and now he was embarking on a mission to do just that regardless of how many side jobs he’d have to carry out to make it happen. A natural-born hustler, EQ was able to go full time in music by 2015. His grit and conviction landed him many opportunities, including a chance to perform at Revolt Music Conference in 2017 where he was heavily praised by legendary names in music, Andre Harrell, and The Dream. After various solo performances and releases, EQ is now teaming up with his childhood friend and fellow West Chicago businessman, Bigg Baby. The two have joined forces to create a joint project slated for release this year.
