Composer and conductor Christian Jost has done much to shape the contemporary music of the past 20 years. His 9 full-length operas to date and a wealth of major symphonic works have been premiered and commissioned by such leading opera houses and orchestras as the Zurich Opera, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Theater an der Wien, Grand Theatre de Geneva, Nederlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin and Vlaamse Opera Antwerp/Ghent are now established in the European operatic and orchestral repertoire and played worldwide. His been award the Siemens Prize in 2003 and has been invited as Composer in Residence to the Grafenegg Festival, the Deutsche Oper Düsseldorf, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Taiwan Philharmonic Orchestra. Always in search of exciting modern narrative forms, he has created innovative new works of music drama and set them on a plane that magically dissolves space and time and has women at its centre. Jost is also in a great demand as a conductor. Ha has conducted orchestras such as the Bremen Philharmoniker, the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, the Hamburger Philharmoniker, the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nederlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin, the National Symphony Orchestra Taiwan, the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, the Tonkünstlerorchester Vienna and the Essener Philharmoniker.
